Review: A handcrafted artisan wine. Verdelho is the perfect Summer wine when accompanied by delicate and subtle dishes such as seafood, chicken and salads.

The ultimate lip-smacking all-occasion white wine with gorgeously intense fruit aromas. Pure fresh juicy tropical fruit flavours as clean as the air after a Sunshine Coast thunderstorm. A wicked aperitif chilled straight out of the fridge and so very food friendly at 5 degrees centigrade. A real crowd pleaser and a very good example of this varietal. The Verdelho grape is flourishing in Queensland’s sub-tropical climate. 

Unoaked with a concentrated tropical nose, a rich flavour gives this wine persistence in its aftertaste and soft mouthfeel. Medium bodied, off dry and an excellent accompaniment to Asian and Middle Eastern dishes.

Wine that loves subtle seafoods to spicy Asian foods; but where a wine with a crisp acidity like this Verdelho really comes into its own is with foods that leave an oily film on the palate like Mediterranean foods with olive oil, Thai dishes with coconut milk and fish and chips. Chilli salt prawns, soft polenta with mascarpone and blue cheese, stuffed baby squid salad with Thai style dressing, Chinese food, Vietnamese dishes, Vietnamese rice paper spring rolls, ravioli of Moreton bay bug meat, pasta carbonara, seafood salad, roast vegetables, all kinds of fish - try it with baked bass stuffed with herbs and slices of lime. And to provide the perfect finish to a meal, try an easy, and hugely popular dessert of goat's curd ( a really subtle flavour) cheesecake with passionfruit sauce.
