Award Winning Wines
Settlers Rise have been producing award winning Queensland wines since opening in July 2000, including a 5 Star Winestate Magazine award for the 2000 Reserve Shiraz. This wine was also selected by a panel of judges from over 1000 wines as one of the Top 12 Queensland Wines.

The Winemaker
Peter Scudamore-Smith - Master of Wine, brings some 23 years of wine making experience to the grape selection and winemaking for Settlers Rise.
He obtained a B.App.Sc (Chemistry) from USQ in 1970, a B.App.Sc (Wine Science) from CSU in 1983 and an M.W. (Institute of Masters of Wine) in London in 1991. Peter has studied in France and is listed in the "International Who's Who of Wine" edited in Paris.
His discerning palate is widely recognised in both coffee and wine circles - he is a wine judge at international, national and local wine shows. He consults to several Queensland and interstate wineries and is a respected wine writer for WineState Magazine, The Courier Mail and the Sunday Mail.
In 2004 Peter was awarded the coveted 'Basset Award' for outstanding contributions to the Queensland Wine Industry.
